What We Do
Flagship Initiatives
KZN AI Summit (Conference)
Our annual summit is the largest provincial AI event — bringing together 500+ delegates from government, academia, industry and civil society. It showcases local talent, attracts investment and sparks collaboration.
KZN AI Institute
The Institute is currently working on and planning the following initiatives:
Inclusive Townships/Rural AI Training
Upskilling physically challenged individuals and setting up hubs in rural and township areas for grassroots AI literacy and training.
AI Research & Development Labs
Solving local challenges through applied AI research and development.
Youth Empowerment
Equipping unemployed graduates, high school learners and TVET students with hands-on AI skills to bridge education and employment.
Academic Support & Mentorship
Funding and supporting pilot AI projects from universities, fostering local innovation and practical applications.
AI for Social Good Projects
Leveraging AI to solve provincial and municipality challenges in healthcare, agriculture, transport and service delivery.
Small Business Start-up Incubation
Support programs, acceleration, demo days and provision of AI grants and start-up funding.
International Exposure & Partnerships
Forming international exposure and partnership programmes for KZN-made AI products.
AI Awareness
Promoting AI literacy across communities, ensuring inclusive participation in the digital economy.
